The Russians pulled out, unrestricted U boat attacks, and Germany sent Mexico the Zimmerman telegraph (telling Mexico that if they side with Germany, they will get back the territories lost to the US). End result, Germans lost WW1

Extreme pressure was applied from UK, both political as well as well as within the intelligence community. An organization was established in Washington by the British Intelligence Service to apply this pressure to Roosevelt, the Germans also began attacking our shipping. Propanda played an important role in pulling U.S. in, but, once they entered they very successful and played a pivotal solution with their equipment money and troops. Europe owes the U.S. much for this great victory. There would be no Euro, Europe would be using the mark and all speak German language. The pride of France and the rest of Europe has never repaid the U.S. the dept of $ and thankfulness that they deserve for this great victory. As usual the U.S. goes on and on helping others with no gratitude from their citiizentry. We never learn to keep our heads out of other peoples problems.

People already explained why the US was pulled in so I'll just explain the impact. In my honest opinion, WWI was the conflict that boosted America to a super power. If it wasn't for out intervention in the war, neither the Allies or the Central Powers would have won. They were both being bled dry. It was our reserves of manpower, guns, ammunition and supplies that won the war. We filled the wholes and launched the offensives that neither the British or French could. Many people downplay our role in WWI, saying we arrived so late at the end that it was basically over. But it wasn't.

Also the Germans sunk the Lusitania, which was an unarmed ship and many Americans died on board. Along with some of the other factors alreadt mentioned, that finaly got America to abandon its isolationism and go to war.

do the research, there's declassified documents in the national archives. Yes, you can go get them yourself, they prove that it was a false flag operation. It was setup by our government to get into the war. There was another ship that wanted to come to the aid of the one that got attacked, and the president got onto the phone with the captain directly and said "I want that goddam ship on the bottom". I believe those were his exact words, he must be having a nice time in hell, that peice of shiit.
