Now suppose a sinner should donate his eyes when he dies and goes on off to hell. Now the person who received the eyes goes to heaven. What exactly would become of the eyes? Just how would that be handled by Jesus?

Well I have been told everything from that I am ignorant to I should go back to bead and given so many different answers I'm confused now. Does anyone know what they are talking about. Would each of you please take time to read the others answers. No one has said I was taking the bible out of context yet anyway but it's coming. Someone did say I just plucked it out of the bible though. I love you all kisses Betty.

It's only a metaphor, it's not literal.

"And if thy right eye offend thee, pluck it out, and cast it from thee: for it is profitable for thee that one of thy members should perish, and not that thy whole body should be cast into hell."--Matthew 5:29

It pertains to church membership.

You could not take this passage literally. If you are going to study the Bible, it is good to be in a Bible study group. Then it can be talked about, and better understood, since views and understanding of others are shared. A Loving God would not want you to pluck out your eye literally. When you get to know God, your creator who so loved the world, that he sent His only begotten Son, to save us, you will understand that.Peace be with you God bless you Merry Christmas

I would think that if this were applied today to the offensive ones, there would be no one left on earth. Your question doesn't have any validity since going to heaven is a made up Christian fairy tale. You offend me, should I be able to cut you out and throw you away? C'mon, get real. Stop your slandering of the word of God.

Jesus meant if there is something that you think is a part of you but it is evil don't keep it. He was speaking in rather arcane metaphor.

Concerning the words of Jesus, church people in general don't know much, so don't ask them questions such as this. They prefer the words of Paul or John or James or Joe or just about anybody over the words of Jesus.

For example Jesus said "Not everyone that saith unto me Lord Lord will enter into the Kingdom of Heaven, but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in Heaven."
Baptists, for example, haven't a clue what that means.

It means those who claim to see, see not.

Open the right hand side of the thrown, and you will not be on the left hand side of the thrown to be judged. It is a parible. Only those with there eyes open can understand paribles. It is stated in the book of Mathew. Read the book and you will find it and more. It is called a mystery, and only those that can see and hear will be able to understand it.

He was obviously using poetry to llustrate a point. My guess we will not be needing eyes in heaven. I however am not giving up any parts just in case.

It's a reference to reincarnation. There were many such references in Jesus teachings..."unless a man be born again", etc.

They were mostly removed by Emperor Constantine when he had the Bible put together
