Do you get any points on your license for an expired registration and tag? especially in North Carolina. I got pulled over on Dec 16th my registration had expired on Dec 15th and my tag in Oct.

I checked there website and this part of what it says but I don't know what they mean improper expired maybe???? I don't need pts I already pay 100 dollars for liability insurance.

No points shall be assessed for convictions of the following offenses:

Over loads
Over length
Over width
Over height
Illegal parking
Carrying concealed weapon
Improper plates
Improper registration
Improper muffler
Improper display of license plates or dealer’s tags
Unlawful display of emblems and insignia
Failure to display current inspection certificate

No, generally points are issued for moving violations only. But you really need to get a grip on renewing your tag...2 months is too long to let it go. You had to have some idea that it was expiring. States usually send a notice of renewal. Generally registration and tag renewal dates are the same.
