Zolof has actually made me loose weight. I think over time if you don't eat properly you'll gain weight whether or not you are taking zoloft. It only works in the weight loss department for so long. But, I'd talk to your doctor if you are concerned about it. I'd also take in account your eating habits and exercise habits as well and see if they have changed. Have you been eating more or less? Have you been exercising more or less? Get your thyroid checked as well. That could play a signifigant role in weight gain. Good Luck!

Weight gain is always a possibility with any psychotropic medications. There is also other factors too. A person must learn how to proportion his or her food out and not eat in between meals and do some moderate exercising each day as well. If you are concerned with your weight gain, I recommend you discuss this with your doctor. He or she may be able to help you lose your weight more efficiently.
Good luck and I hope I was some what helpful!

I was on Paxil, an anti-depressant very similar to Zoloft and that made me gain weight, though I've lost it. Actually, anti-depressants (SSRI's) do commonly cause people to gain weight.

Weight loss...till I started eating coz my guy friend kept threatening to go to the school counselor crying about anorexia if I didn't. THEN I gained some weight, but it was from how I chose to eat, not the Zoloft.
Zoloft...made me feel like I didn't need food...or want it.
