i went to msconfig but it says nerocheck.exe and i don't know if i need it because the only thing is use nero is for making a copy of my favorite cd's so can some one tell me if i need it???????

I hate to disagree with others (well, not really), but you mgiht need it.
Nero also allows you to drag and drop to re-writable CD/DVDs, but only if it is running in the background.
So, if you use re-writiables (which Nero has to format first), then you will need it.

You surely don't need it at all buddy! It just slows down your PC so erase the God dammed Nero check!

Well you certainly don't need it to start up, but if its keeps coming up every time you start the PC then, it might be that your copy of this program has been corrupted. :)
