Hi Dalisa!! My dog dreams very vividly, and often wakes us up by whimpering, shaking, twitching, and even barking in his sleep.
Usually during seizures, the dogs legs are stiff, they draw back their teeth and grimace. The dog looses control of its bowels, etc.
This type of behavior is very common in dogs that ..do have bad dreams..It could be serious though, I'd take my boy to the doctor just to be on the safe side. It's better to be safe than sorry....

Dogs do, in fact, dream. Many people observe their dogs twitching, moving their legs or making noises while sleeping and this is typically because they are dreaming. In fact, though dogs tend to dream for shorter periods of time than people, they tend to do so with more action. You can see dogs making chewing motions, licking or moving their lips and whiskers while dreaming, moving their feet and legs like they're running, and even making yipping noises.

SURE they do. I love to watch puppies dream.. They make little sucking noises, they move their little mouths and legs, yelp and make all kinds of little noises. My older dog dreams too. She woofs in her sleep and moves her legs like she is chasing something. Her eyes move around too. It's very entertaining to watch them sleep. Guess I'd better get a life!

Yes - all the dogs I've owned have made noises in their sleep and some have mimicked running.

Yes they can, any animal that can go into REM sleep like humans do has the ability to dream.

Yes. Dogs are just like humans, they just dream differenltly. My dog whimpers in her sleep, Growls in her sleep, And Yelps in her sleep. They wouldn't do that just because...

Indeed they do. Sometimes you can watch their eyes move, other times they whine or huff, and if they're really getting fiesty in their subconscious, they'll kick their legs a bit like they're running.

dogs are like cats...my cat was gone for 3 days once and he came home and had nightmares...he cried and hissed all night and he kept us up all night..we kept having to wake him up so he'd be quiet and when he woke up, he'd go hide under the bed...so yes..
