If a human was cloned, would it have a soul. I am a believer, and I think I have a few ideas but I wanna know what every other believers think. Each individual has a spirit, a soul. If the body was cloned would God give it a soul?

#2.. You have an individual genetic code, and God allows sin doesn't he. If it is wrong or right would it not be just a body, with just the basic human instincts, like an animal.

I disagree that God would give a cloned human a soul. Each soul comes with an individual, and I don't believe humans can clone souls. God creates the individual soul to be passed from lifetime to lifetime (reincarnation) so, if humans create the clone, they cannot create the soul also. This is a question I have pondered also, and that is one of the reasons I don't think that we should be creating human clones. I believe they would be soulless individuals, and where would that lead?

Well, I'm not a Christian, but I think that everything that is alive has a soul. Trees, plants, birds, and, of course, humans. =) And, although a clone would look just like someone else, his/her personality would be different, which to me, means that the clone has to have a soul.

A clone would not be an exact duplicate. It would have to grow up just like any other baby. It would be no different than an identical twin, except you weren't born together. And since people don't have souls to begin with, neither would the clone.

In identical twins does only one have a soul? Do they share a soul? Or do they each have a soul. A clone would be the same as a younger identical twin, so whatever you believe applies to them would apply to a clone.

My guess is yes, but I'm unaware of any empirical method for answering the question, since we can't yet test experimentally for the presence of a soul. If we could, we should probably start with chimpanzees and dolphins rather than cloned humans.

If you cloned someone you know that it was God that made it possible. So logically you know God would give it a soul as well because it is life in God's eyes.

Yes, it would get a soul, because biology is the doorway to physical reality. The soul will make the clone think.

The body is only an envelope, it may be identical to another, but has it's own soul. The soul/spirit is always independent of the body.

totally theoretical question, i love it
i would say yes... because the cloned person's body may be identical, but surely their personality would be different (like with twins)
as i understand it, clones are not created fully formed, the gene sequence is replicated, and the clone must grow from like an embryo stage... so its not like *boom* heres a body, whats gonna run it...

I believe if God allows a being to dwell here on earth it has a soul.
