I am making homemade chicken noodle soup and I was wondering if you have to put chicken bouillon cubes in with the chicken. I usually do, but I forgot to buy them when I went to the store. Will it taste bad if I do not put them in?

Thanks for responses :)

the flavor for the chicken soup comes from the skin mostly, and the meat....you do not need bouillon cubes, they will just make it very salty.....use a slow cooker...cut up the chicken into smaller pieces, and separate the skin from the chicken, cutting it up, and using it in the soup....also add minced garlic, or garlic powder, not garlic salt... use some chopped up onions or some onion powder also...i use celery salt for some extra flavor, and use your regular salt & black pepper also.....i have found that liberal use of Garlic, especially if it is minced or fine from a Garlic press, adds great flavor to the soup, without people seeing the garlic, which might worry them !!.. my chicken soup, is to die for !!...in other words, its very delicious, as told to me, by people who ask for seconds, or more please !!

My mom and grandmom never put bouillon cubes or the like. And it would be delicious! Salt WAS added though.
Chicken, rice (or noodles), shredded carrots and I loved to be the one to find the chicken heart in my soup. To my personal bowl, I'd add more salt as per to my liking, if needed.
Don't worry about it. Just as long as you have the main ingredients, then you should be fine. If you are use to more, then yes, it might taste a bit bland, but just keep the salt handy and taste it as it's finishing so the whole pot tastes the same.
Personally, I've always been too afraid to use cubes for fear of wonking up the soup and ruining the whole thing.

Mostly the chicken flavor comes from the bones, so if you are using the whole chicken you are ok. Bouillion cubes have WAY too much salt for me. Chop some celery tops (the leafy part) in it and add a little onion and garlic powder and a little oregano. We found some sodium free chicken bouillion at the store, and we add a few packets and ours has an awsome chicken flavor.

You don't need the bouillion cubes which add mostly salt because when the chicken cooks down you will have a broth loaded with golden and tasty chicken fat. Just add in your favorite veggies, seasonings and pasta or rice at the end and it will be great.

It wont taste bad but at the same time it wont taste good either.
To make a good soup you need to put all the necessary itmes in it..
other wise it's of no use...
it's better to eat the chiicken raw atleast you'll not waste your energy making it !!!
Do well...
and after making it give me half a bowl of soup to taste...
i'll tell ya whether its good or bad !

You can live without the chicken boulillon, it mostly adds salt. You might add a few spices like thyme and sage.
