Is your question directed to church people? I don't know any Christians.
Oh, you mean people who vainly claim they are?

No.The church alone is to be a christian nation unto itslef, a light in the world. It is the mixture of both that have led to contamination.I do think that America is and was influenced by Christianity for good , and it was that influence which made it the greatest in the world, in that which it is the greatest. In some things it is not the greatest but overall it still beats all, in my opinion. It is not true that the majority of people are Christians here, there is too much sexual immorality, to much pornography, too much disrespect towards God, too much insolent youth and too many confused people with no honor or dignity.

Christianity, or for that matter any religion, is what you think it is... you cannot distinguish a nation as "good Christian" or "bad Christian". But if you do look at it from a Biblical perspective, I don't see how waging a war was ever justified. Simple, if you have a problem with a neighbor, you sort it out, or you let him be, as long as he doesn't disrupt your life, in which case you should discuss, not kill. "Love thy neighbor", something I think EVERY nation and EVERY person can learn.... and my answer: if you look at U.S.A. from an outside nation's view, it is often seen as quite the opposite of a "good Christian nation". Sometimes those who are narrow minded even mistake U.S.A to REPRESENT Christianity, which can be devastating to an entire group of people.

I see it like this .The Christians you do hear about Talk the Talk, But do not Walk the Walk. This creates a bad image for the rest of you. So I will have to say no. the image is severly tarnished. Especially after it got tricked by the Republicans into giving up your and everybody elses rights. Hail the Thief.

It's a nation of the Christian culture, but how "good" it is remains to be seen. It is the Christian culture that produced the invasion of Iraq. Right now that doesn't look like it was such a "good" thing. We'll have to wait and see what history shows.
Slavery was also a product of the Christian culture -- good? Apathy and the way we over-react to other cultures is also a product of the Christian culture -- good? Only time will tell.

I am Rational Spirituality,
To me being a Christian means acting like one in every day situations of life, not waving around the bible and citing passages from it.
In the light of this, I am afraid, I cannot consider the USA to be a good Christian Nation.
You may read the Concept of Rational Spirituality on the Dhaxem website. Conveyed from the Source only in February 2006, it had already become the thinking person's modern bible. It explains why is it important to act like Christ has shown us, rather than just calling ourselves "Christians".

A good Christian does not war with it's neighbors. The U.S.A wars with it's neighbors. The U.S.A is not a good Christian nation.

There are plenty of opportunities for this to be so. There are churches of every denomination on every corner and many good, well meaning Christian people. But just as is in the newspaper and on the evening news the good deeds that are done daily are overshadowed by the bad news that also occurs. Tragedy sells, happiness does not....but it doesn't mean that one exists more than the other....its just talked about more.
Praise God for all of his grace and the Lord Jesus who lives in me.

I am not a Christian but the Bible's God, ruler of the universe, runs counter to the American Constitution. He does not support democracy (He rules;Psalms 2,89,110: the King is Yawweh's son), freedom of religion (no other gods allowed) or freedom of speech (no blasphemy). The Bible's god, many believe, will throw the majority into a lake of fire.

I think we are but there are some who are trying to erase the Christians from America such as wanting to remove in God we trust from money and the pledge of allegiance from schools and so on and so on. We as Christians and Americans must try to stop.
