you can look at this site http://www.creativeweddingcards.com/wedding_wordings/wedding_ceremony.htm or http://www.lovepoemsandquotes.com/WeddingInformationAndEtiquette.html
or just do a search for wedding invitation templates on yahoo/google/or some other search engine. When I made my 1st wedding, wedding invitations I used Microsoft publisher. On the front of the inviitation I had a few lines from a love poem I found at www.lovepoemsandquotes.com within a rose border.

Oh heavens yes you can make them yourself. What I'd suggest is that you go to a craft store, or even a scrapbooking type store, and see what they've got. There's even books on card making. What you'll need is cardstock, possibly vellum paper, a good ink jet printer (not top of the line though). You can use rubber stamps and stamp images on paper, you can even buy like an initial stamp (maybe like have a monogram of your first initial, hubby's first initial and last name initial) and emboss that on the front of the invite. Just wander the aisles at a craft store and see what they have, many/most will also offer a class.

Just a word of advise though, if you need to get them out soon, I would keep it very simple, run something through on your printer on simple cardstock and go. The fancier you get, the more time it's going to take. I have a friend who makes her own Christmas cards every year, she starts in September, and it takes her until the middle of December to make about 200 cards. Granted, she has 5 children......

The invitations themselves can be found at Michaels, Staples, Walmart. They usually run around $20 per set of 50. Then you can go online to www.Verseit.com, they have some beautiful and unique verses to be used according to the type of wedding you are planning. Another way to cut back on cost is to make your RSVP card a postcard, this will cost less with stamps.

Check out local craft stores and see what they have. If you are doing them yourself, just keep it simple, all in one script/type-face and color. Wording should be formal(look at samples on-line and substitute with your info). Don't get too cutesy, or go crazy w/ rubber stamps, or people will spot that it's home made in about 2 seconds. I received a wedding invitation from a cousin which was handwritten (UGHH), illegible, and consisted of 10 layers of pressed paper, vellum, dried flowers and ribbon. It was an awful mess, and she could have had them done professionally for probably a 3rd of the cost and time it took her to do it herself.

Since you are using a HP printer, why not try this website... it's from HP and they offer free creative ideas for you to use and print, including cards and other arts& craft stuff.

Canon also has a pretty good website with free arts ideas for cards, etc.

Sure beats paying for ideas from some of the idea websites...

You can get invitation kits from Michaels or Walmart. They're the easiest by far, and pretty cheap. I used Wilton kits that I bought from Walmart, and I spent about $30 to make them. They looked very nice.

Just don't print them in all caps, okay?

Find your local scrapbooking store, they have some wonderful ideas!! I just made all of my Christmas cards and can't believe how many calls I'm getting to say how nice they are and how the personal touch was appreciated. Don't know where you are, but this store is awesome http://www.scrapbooksally.com/
