You can have the color corrected but it may damage your hair. The only thing that is completely safe is to let it grow and fade out. I've heard adding lemon juice and sitting in the sun can lighten but you run the risk of sunburn and other skin conditions. Plus it's winter time so that won't work out too well.

Go and get some Prell shampoo and start washing your hair ALOT. It will start pulling the color out gradually. In a couple of weeks you'll be back close to normal color.

well you can go back and get lighter highlights or you can sit in the sun, but you would have a tough time doing that because it is winter. but if you live somewhere like florida then you should just stay in the sun and then your hair will get lighter.
