"A German patent in 1904 contained the earliest recorded proposal for a color television system. In 1925, Zworykin filed a patent disclosure for an all-electronic colour television system. Both of these systems were not successful, however, they were the first for color television. A successful color television system began commercial broadcasting, first authorized by the FCC on December 17, 1953 based on a system designed by RCA."

In 1940, prior to RCA, CBS researchers led by Peter Goldmark invented a mechanical color television system based on the 1928 designs of John Logie Baird
Between 1946 and 1950 the research staff of RCA Laboratories invented the world’s first electronic, monochrome compatible, color television system

A Russian immigrant named Vladimir Zworykinin the USA made a first tv prototype that resembles a cathode ray tube in 1929. He worked for the Radio Corporation. He contributed to the development of the colour tv. The 1936 Berlin Olympic Games were televized by hte Reichs Rundfunkgesllschaft(State Broadcasting,Co.) using Zworkin's Ikonokop-Kamera to 29 viewing salons in five German cities. But,,in 1817,Jons Jacob Berzelius(1779-1884) a Swedish Chemist, unknoingly laid the foundations of television transmission with the discovery of Selenium. Another key discovery was the photovoltaic effect the ability of some substances to convert light into electrical impulses and vice versa by Antoine Becquere(1788-1878).
The photovoltaic ability of Selenium to convert light into an electric currentwas discovered by Willoughby Smith (1828-91) (UK), and the first Selenium cell was devised by Dr.Shelford Bidwell (1848-1909) in 1881. German Paul Nipkow(1860-1940) made an electrisches Teleskp. Proffesor Boris Rosing(Russia)(1869-1933) inSt.Petersburg, filed his patent in 1907 for harnessing a cathode ray tube.On May 9 1911.he used a tube to produce images of 4 bands. The first true tv pictures were achived by(Scotish) Logie Baird(1888-1946). Kenjiro Takayanagi(Japan)(1899-1990) in Hamamatsu Japan trnasmitted a Japanese script December 25 1926.

The first mechanical television was built by the Scottish engineer John Logie Baird around 1925.
Although Baird had experimented with colour television as early as 1925, it was in 1929 that an American team led by Herbert Ives demonstrated the first colour system. It transmitted three separate pictures in red, green and blue
