Bony always seemed to slip up against the British though, Duke of Wellington?

Mind you I suppose the odd massive loss might not overshadow his "achievements"..

Nelson, Bonaparte sacrificed huge numbers of his own soldiers in achieving his personal ambitions, Nelson served his country to the best of his ability and achieved great victories without undue casualties.

But really The Duke of Wellington was best, the gye never made a serious military mistake.

Nelson was a genius, but to put anyone ahead of Napoleon as one of the best military leaders of all time would be a tough sell. Maybe Alexander the Great. But yeah, Napoleon over Nelson.
