I'm afraid that once it is scratched and doesn't play properly, there's nothing you can do about it.
It's very easily done.
CD's and DVD's have to be treated with care, as you would a vinyl record.
The days of smearing them in marmalade, and skateboarding over them (as they did in Tomorrow's World in the 80's) are long gone

Try rubbing BRASSO on the scratches in circular motion, then buff with a soft cloth. This works enough to fool staff when exchanging PS2 games.

There are devices used to do this - it looks like they grind down the whole surface until the rest of the disc is the depth of the scratch.

With a simple boot cd\dvd (it depends on what you need). They're cheap and easy to handle.

i dont know how to repair them, but my advice is download them to your computer (i find that your computer can often still read them when scratched) and then at least you've not lost the music, if you can't fix the original, you can burn a copy

Don't know where you're from but i saw today something that was in a tube and claimed to do this. It was in a Virgin Megastore shop and only a few pounds (£).

just use plain old brasso but dont go with the grooves,rub across the disc IVE DONE THIS FOR YEARS
