It MIGHT be ok for the crispie treats, but I would not use it as a substitute in the things you bake. The reason is not because of the taste (although it might be different). The reason is the consistency. Butter resumes its shape after being heated, margarines do not. Therefore, your cookies will never have the proper consistency. They will "melt" in the oven and never set up.

It may work, depending on what youre using it for. Remember, its not butter, so you cant substitute it in most recipes and expect the same results (ie if youre making cookies, and it says butter, you need butter). Country crock is an oil that has been hydrogenated to make it look like butter (off the subject, but this process makes these types of "spreads" very bad for you, worse than butter, and more likely to clog your arteries...just in case you didnt know), so it looks the same, but its not the same. Now your question says youre out of baking spray, which makes me think youre using the CC to lube up your baking sheet, compared to preparing bread from scratch. If thats what youre doing, go ahead. You can certainly fry an egg in a pan with CC or butter or the spray, those types of uses are interchangeable and a matter of preference. Same with buttering toast, you could use either. Just know, you cant substitute it in most recipes. Good luck, sounds yummy!

I would advise against it. Country Crock isn't butter, it isn't even margarine, it is a spread flavored to taste like butter. It would almost be like using oil. When baking you want to use butter for the richness that it will give your items. Especially the sugar cookies. I think that if you try you are going to be very disappointed with the end result. Just stick with the stick when it comes to baking, stick of butter that is.

You can use it for the filling in the cinnamon swirl bread but not the dough itself, you Can't use it in the sugar cookies and you can but don't recommend using it in rice krispi treats because when you melt it it sometimes separates.
Country crock it a whipped spread if you want to go margarine go with the sticks.

NO! If a recipe calls for butter or margarine then use it. Substituting things like "whipped margarine" or "butter spreads" will ruin your baked goods.

The best thing for baking is the Crisco sticks, they come in butter flavor and can't be beat for baking.

There is no good substitute for butter. Besides, butter is better for you!

In the superstore, fruits are usually chosen far too soon. Some are rocks, many are wrong. Some of the fruit and vegetables are generally right (zucchini, onions, garlic, lettuce, greens, and a few others) so I'd have to go with vegetables.
