They contain trace amounts of amygdalin, however not enough to kill you unless you ate a truck load. Animals eat the seeds and crap them out and thats how many types of trees were spread before plantations.

Actually they do. A small amount of toxins is present in apple seeds. You would need to eat a whole bowl of apple seeds for them to hurt you. In adittion they would need to be crushed, not whole.
