This question is not racial in any wayim just curious. Why do white people go to tanning salons just to look darker. It seems like they want to be black, or get bigger lips like black peple, or bigger butts( you get the idea)

I think that they want to look black and they don't like how they look.To be honest i think that black is beautiful. i guess because a long time ago people made it seem like being light was better or superior. What i cant understand how someone can be racist and have a tan? i dont get that. plus i dont believe that you are being racist, you have a right to ask anything you want.

whoa....... 1. you'll probably get a change after one visit, just make sure you don't go in too long and get burnt! 2. I would say around 5-7 visits depending on the strength of the bulbs at the tanner you're going to. 3. Tanning beds give you a comparable tan. 4. I would always tan in the sun if I had time! You can always do both. 5. Tans from a bed last a while once you have been regularly going I would say about a week before you are going back to normal. 6. Nothing really happens after you tan in either place except that it eventually will wear off or if you get burnt it will peel off. Thats why you have to go fairly regularly and for appropriate amounts of time.

They aren't "wanna be's". People who are pale want to look as attractive as any one else, with a nice healthy golden glow. People go to tanning salons, because they either want a jump start on the summer sun, or they don't have time for leisure tanning time at the beach or by the pool. Most people who have cosmetic surgery on their lips usually have very thin lips and want to have the so called sexy pouty look. Not because black people have thick lips. As for bigger butts, people who have this cosmetic surgery simply wants to be in proportion and feel they need to improve this part of their body, you know, just like people who have breast implants. Get the idea?

Well I'm white and I have a very fair complexion. I have never tanned in a tanning bed & I never will. I have no interest in changing my skin color. In fact, I like my fair skin. I think tanning is bad for your skin & it ages you way too quickly. I'm 39 & I don't have any lines or wrinkles on my face at all and my skin is soft & not dry like it would be if I tanned. Tanned skin is pretty but I don't think skin cancer & wrinkles are worth it. If I want a little color I will use Jergen's lotion with a hint of color in it. Nothing that will drastically change my skin color. Just something that gives it a little glow & evens out my tone. And, I always use sunscreen, I have a family history of skin cancer & don't want to take a chance. I think there is beauty in all races and we should enhance our natural beauty, certianly not try to change it. Although I'm white, I have very large lips but I don't have much of a butt. But that's okay, I still like myself the way I am & I don't want to be anyone other than myself.

Personally, I tan on a weekly basis at a tanning salon because I like to have some "color." It makes me feel beautiful and improves my self image. I do however, realize the risks of skin cancer but I possess the carefree attitude that I'm going to die from something and I want to enjoy my life. No, I do not want to be black! I actually possess a nice figure with a weight of 115 and 5'4" so I am happy being me.

People tan naturally while being outside, usually to engage in sports or manually labor. Since doing these activities makes you leaner, muscular, and stronger, people began to associate darker, tanned skin with health and strength.

BTW - Several hundred years ago, being somewhat stocky with pasty white skin was considered attractive because it meant you were well fed and well off.

I think that you should have used spellcheck first of all. Second your question does sound like reversed racism. Third why in the world do you really care? Fourth people like to have a healthy look..which is why they get a suntan. Now I am white and I have big lips and a big *** and I did not pay for them...they are all natural.

I try not to tan, but I really like it. I like being tan, it is different than being black. The pigment of your skin looks better when its darker apposed to being pale. I feel like I look thinner and my teeth appear whiter, I love it!
