Try ice wrapped in a tea towel. Lie down and hold it on your eye area. Cold should constrict the blood vessels and help with swelling.
Poor you.

Later: Are you ok now?

Cold compresses (ice) Over the eyes while laying down helps. So does slice cucumbers and tea bags. I would start with the ice for about 20 min. then apply the cucumbers for 10 mins then the tea bags (make sure you have wet them and drained). When you are done if some swelling remains apply Preperation H to the outside of the eyes where swelling is persistant. (Be sure not to get any in your eye and use a new tube.) This will quickly reduce any swelling you have left. This is an old modeling trick to reduce puffy eyes before a photo shoot. It works very well.

The other responses were right on target for reducing the swelling. Stop crying all night and eliminate the problem of swelling. Why are you crying, does it resolve the issue? Face the cause headon and be done with it. Mamma always said every gray cloud has a silver lining and it does! I wish you the best, been there, done that.
