How much proof is considered hard liquor?

1.5oz of 80 proof liquor is equivelent to a glass of beer or wine.

I believe hard liquor would be considered anything above 50 proof, which would be 25% alcohol and higher.

Personally I don't consider anything under 70 proof (35%) "hard" liquor, although I prefer 100 proof or above if given the choice.

Edit: I guess Wikipedia agrees with me, "The word spirits generally refers to distilled beverages low in sugars and containing at least 35% alcohol by volume.
The term liquor may mean spirits; spirits and liqueurs; or all alcoholic beverages, including wine, sake, beer, and mead."

So I quess the key word is "hard"
