In My house noone has internet in their room. We have 2 cpus setup. One in the kitchewn area and the other in the corner of the living room and the display is always towards the open room. If you have to hide what you are doing on the cpu then don't do it

Don't push it and they will come around. Also, try to impress them. Do things without being asked. Looking back I wish I had helped my parents out more when I lived at home.
