Labs are the greatest dogs in the world. They are extremely friendly, loyal, loving, affectionate, highly INTELLIGENT, and versatile. My brother has two huskies they are friendly to but they are extremely hyper and have a huge desire to rin and run and run. I think the Labs coats are way more manageable, and they also seem a little more level headed. But they are both great dogs.

I had a Chocolate Lab until he passed on (god bless him)... he was a GREAT dog. He was such a loving and caring dog. They are also very very smart! I would go for the lab. Our Chocolate Lab also was around us and us only all the time one evening we had friends that came over with a 3yr old boy and I have to say I have never seen a dog be so gentle with a child ever before. I mean it's as if he knew that little boy was fragile and still very young. I also just recently got a Black Lab and she at 9 weeks knows sit, lay down, stay and come. They are very very smart breeds! I feel bad because there are so many shelters that have many so many Labs right now. That is where we got our Black Lab.

Then again I've never had a Husky so I wouldn't know how they are.

If you have any questions about Lab ... feel free to email me. My husband and I are Labs all the way!

Any dog can be friendly if bred and raised right.
Go to a shelter and see what's availible before even beginning to look for a breeder.
I met a dog I took to be a black lab mix last night, and seeing as the color of a lab is just the color and a lab is a lab *just like a cat is a cat, be black, white, or calico* I can use this as an example of good labmanship, he was the biggest rolly-polly lap dog would be I've ever seen and his personality was great. The only opinion I can have on huskies is that they're big and beutiful, i've never spent any time with one. But they're both big dogs with big excersize requirements, so be prapared for that if you pick either.

I would go with the Lab... my experiences with husky's have been less than pleasant. I know there will be lots of people who argue with me on that one, but I have seen more bites on kids faces and upper bodies from huskies than from any other large breed dog.

Labs are "happy and stupid" (they're not dumb, they just act it). They adore kids, live to make their owners happy, and aren't "scary". They are also very versatile and can do everything from hunting, to obedience and agility, to serving as soneone's eyes or ears. They also do search and rescue work and are fantastic therapy dogs.

well, the lab is #1 and rotts are the 2nd most popular from what i read. i have 2 rotts they are just big baby's with me and they are very smart they use them for police dogs and other stuff along those lines like law enforcement. they were working and herding
dogs they are low maintenance and prefer being cool rather than being hot. they are great for keeping ppl out of your yard wile still being a good pet.
