Ebitis (first answer) is correct. You could also get the maiden name from an Obituary or Death Certificate.

If you know their social security number and their bank information, you can call the local bank branch and ask to see a copy of "your" application. The maiden name is usually printed on the top right of the application.

you said you don't know the maiden name which means she married. obtain her marriage cerificate and it should reveal her maiden name and probably her father's full name and you can keep going backwards. also, try census records...

Check the records under her husbands name.... it will be on the marriage license...

Try finding their marriage on www.ancestry.com - this will also tell you what their maiden name was.
