How about turkey lol or you could get a chicken or a ham(if you cook it with coca cola over it and brown sugar..yummy). Buy rice..i love rice all the time. Stuffing mix, potatoes. sweet potatoes stuff like that. But you could make anything and call it Christmas it doesn't have to fit the tradition..once we had a Mexican Christmas with margharitas and all lol.

Ham is a good choice if you had a turkey at Thanksgiving. You can buy the spiral sliced ones in the store. Put it in a baking pan and pour a can of gingerale over the top and cover with foil before baking. That give it a really nice flavor. You can make a homemade macaroni and cheese to go with it. Buy some pretty Christmas cookies and breads and put out some eggnog (you can spice it with a little rum if you like).

Try something new like Sushi food, that will be the nice idea for this Christmas or order from Sushi restaurants. And the rest of the food items are cookies, cakes, candies, chocolate etc.

i think of you would be able to desire to be slightly extra particular. A 1600's pioneer (Massachusetts, Virginia, Florida); 1800's pioneers settling the midwest; 1900's pioneers homesteading from the Mississippi to the Rockies? different? All could have made Christmas meals from accessible supplies and components.

We always serve tons of appetizers and snacks and just munch. Nobody ever wants to sit down to a big dinner at our house. We have egg rolls, buffalo wings, cookies, egg nog, swedish meatballs and veggie plates. You can put out platters of store bought appetizers or homemade ones.
