My son is two and a half years old. Ever since he was two, he has taken to wearing pants really well. Recently, he has digressed at an alarming rate. He does not seem to be able to hold his wee in at all. At Nursery, they were saying that he was doing much better than the other kids, but now he wets himself every morning. He is also wetting his bed every night, sometimes more than once. He can wee 3 times in an hour, and often it just looks like water. I am taking him to the doctors this week to get him checked out. He has no other symptoms, except the constant passing of water. I have limited his drinks, but this doesn't seem to make any difference. Have any of you experienced similar things with your kids? I am really worried.

I agree that you should take him to the doctor and that you get him checked for medical reasons. I wouldn't limit his fluid intake except at night. Keep him hydrated otherwise during the day. One thing you need to do is step back and look.....does he seem to be stressed out or like he has anxiety about the fact that he is already potty trained and others around him are not? Children that are potty trained at a very early age tend to go back to wetting themselves because they realize that they are different and that nobody else is doing this. The other children may be getting more attention due to the fact that they aren't potty trained because the teacher is having to change them and he is just sent to the toilet and thats it!! Im sure he is fine but check with the doc and see what they say from a medical stand point and watch how he acts and you should be able to see for yourself what is going on!

Well i have two children one is 4, he was a long time potty training, because he was our first the we were learning as well.He had allot of problems with weeing at night and in the morning and we found out that he needed to be circumcise.
He was not emptying him self properly and when his body was relaxed then that's when his body realised it.He had the op about 3 months ago and we have had no problem since. Hopefully Ur son will be well but it is worth asking your g.p to have a look and rule this out.Hope all goes well for ur son ...

I know this might sound a bit harsh but have you tried not giving him a drink for about 2 hours before he goes to bed?
My mom had the same problem with my youngest sister who is now 7 but when she took her to the docs thats what he told her to do and it stopped her wetting the bed but as for weeing so much i can only suggest trying not to let him drink too much during the day and maybe change what he is drinking.

He is very young ... and obviously doing really well. I wouldn't worry too much as they sometimes go backwards when it comes to potty training. Put him in nappies for awhile and see how he goes. I would check out for anything that could be upsetting him at school. It could be something very minor ... but stress usually affects little ones, and the only way they can really epxress that is by wetting themselves!

He may have a bladder infection or something, going to your GP is the best thing todo, just rule anything out ... Take a wee sample with you.
The other thing could be that he is worrying about something or someone. Talk to him, let him know that he can tell you anything and you won't be angry coz you love him and always will.
I hope it all works out in the end love. x

Is he feeling insecure - being bullied or is there something new in his life? These things can affect a child!
Ask the nursery teacher if he's being picked on by any other kids? - I know it seems young for nursery children to pick on each other but they do!

Make sure you give him electrolytes so he wont dehydrate.
A friend of mine had a daughter at the same age and stage in life, and similar bladder issues.
It was the result of too much demand on her.
A sort of learning overload.
Once she was reassured when she became anxious and accepted what was expected of her and her mind calmed, she grew out of it, and was a very sweet and happy child.

This sounds really hard but it happens. The best thing to do is to keep encouraging him to do it without it being a big deal any attention to a child is good attention so don't be to negative.

I agree get him to the peditrician, it could be an over active bladder/kidney's, but the biggest concern is dehydration. I would not limit his drinking either, keep the fluids goin.
