I hear pros and cons. The pros seem to be more than the cons lately. They seem to be more natural looking and comfortable to wear after the adjustments have been made.Made of more flexible materials. I know 2 people who just got theirs and claim they love them Of course nothing is like natural providing you have strong teeth. To me it looks like more seniors are wearing them.

You ask this question as though you may get dentures for the heck of it??
When people get dentures, it's not really a choice. Their teeth have decayed or became so mobile that they had to come out. If you can save your own teeth, by all means, do it. But people who wear them do it b/c if they didn't, they'd have no teeth at all.
The material is not flixible. It's a hard acrylic material. It kind of suctions to the ridge of your mouth. Bottom dentures tend to cause more aggrevation to patients than top dentures b/c many people, especially older people, have virtually no ridge, so the denture has nothing to suction on to. They usually have to wear the "denture glue".
The most painful thing that peple experience with dentures is usually rubbing. Sometimes the gum's shape and size will fluctuate. This happens when swelling from extractions goes down, as people gain/lose weight and as they age. When the denture fits too tight, it will rub the gums creating blisters. This is very painful, but can be fixed w/ a quick trip to the dentist's office for an adjustment.
All in all, most people who need dentures are very happy to have them!
Hope this helps!
Happy Holidays!

There are good and bad with wearing full dentures. They do look natural, I get a lot of compliments on my smile. If you can save your natural teeth, then do it, there is no replacement for that, even implants still aren't the same as natural teeth. Cons are a floating lower, but can be cured by getting 2 implants on your lower jaw, getting sore spots from the denture not fitting correctly, and not being able to eat everything that you could with natural teeth. Overall, if you have no option, then do it, but if you don't have to get them, DON'T.

Dentures typically are not made of flexible materials. Full dentures are made of acrylic and conform to the healed tissues. If the denture has a temporary relign, then the lining os a softer material that comforms some to the anatomy of the soft tissues in mouth.
