No. I live in Alabama, and our county allows the sale of alcohol after 12:00 noon on Sunday. It might be different in different counties.

It is not only the states that regulate this...It is usually the local governments. I know this is true in both Texas and parts of Illinois as I have lived in both. For example, entire counties are dry (as in no liquor sales even in resturants). I currently live in IL and the town next to me does not sell or serve (even at restaurants like applebees) on Sunday, but you can go within the same county and buy and be served so in this case it is not the county law/ordinance (unlike the example in texas), but a city ordinace. So the direct answer....my state does not, but the city next door to where I live does. So if a county or city can make the rule, I am sure an entire state can do so if they want....usually it is more conversative regions that have such rules/laws.

PA banned liquor on Sundays until recently, we can now purchase it at selected state stores from noon till 5. No alcohol is sold in any stores here. There are "beer distributors, bars, and state stores". And beer is sold by the case at distributors. No 6 or 12 packs. Kinda crazy after living in a state where you can buy 1 beer at the corner store anytime.

In SC all liquor stores close at 7 pm Saturday evening and don't open til 9 am Monday morning. It is a state wide law. You are however able to buy beer and wine in certain counties. In some places a store on one side of the street could sell beer but the store across the street was unable to due to county lines.

No. Here it costs about $60 for a year long liquor license(excluding Sundays) and $800 for a Sunday license. Apparently morality is for sale in Missouri, eh?

Why should God or religion have any bearing on how commerce is regulated in any country that is NOT a theocracy? Why should an atheist, or a Jew, or a Wiccan, or a Seventh-Day Adventist have to schedule his shopping around YOUR sabbath, in a country that purports to have freedom of religion for all? It's time for America to GROW up, and realize that not having the government pander to your particular beliefs is NOT the same as being persecuted; it just means that we live in a pluralistic and free society -- which is something that everyone should be grateful for and work to further and protect, yourself included.
