Rest of you, spare me your tired literal rendering of my quotes. If you all took a literal approach to all aspects of your life, you'd all be popping cyanide pills by now.

don't think that you are witty for criticizing Christianity. There have been many better, smarter and wittier cynics than you. Try coming up with something that at least makes sense

So, if you're calling non-Christians Jackasses, would that make you a bird-brain ... er ... parrot, it would seem. And not that great of one if you don't know who it is you are parrotting.

It does seem that the teacher doesn't remember much, as it is the "old dog" who is supposedly unable to learn the "new tricks". Evidently, recalling proper metaphor seems a bit beyond this particular teacher.

I sort of like the definition of purpose that your clergyman gave. It seems that most Christians here don't leave it at that though. I'm also wondering why you are getting insulting toward non-believers. You are certainly going beyond the purpose of "presenting the truth". I don't recall the verse where Jesus told the disciples to "call non-believers vile and insulting names because that proclaims the Glory of the Father".

And as for men of faith and men of science, who is the more delusioned? Those who would defend metaphor with thier lives, basing their entire faith on allegory, or those who search dilligently for truth, not letting presupposition get in the way?

If God created the world, doesn't it seem that Science, searching dilligently, would come to the proper conclusion regardless of whether the researcher had read the Bible? If your God is not the author of lies, and is the author of the universe, would it not seem reasonable that the study of the universe should lead one to God?

Whatever... keep up the name-callling and foot-stomping and fist-shaking. You're making a marvelous example of what non-Christians don't wish to be.

The phrase is, and always has been "You can't teach an old dog new tricks" - which is absolutely wrong. The creature of the long ears can also be taught at any age. My great-grandfather, rather than being a jackass, was a Kansas farmer, while his father was a Missouri slave holder and ran a livery. What, are you trying to stir up trouble (with this question)?

We should not argue with them. I just lay out the TRUTH. I don't care if they accept it or not because I can't choose their final resting place for them. That is something they have to do. My job is to give them the facts--there have been too many lies. If they think their great grandfather is a jackass--so what? We are doing our job by following God's wish that all would be presented with the TRUTH. It is the Holy Spirit's job to convict them.

Keep on witnessing Brother! God Bless and Merry Christmas!!!

A jackass trys to teach Christians that the bible is

the bible is a book of claims and as long as people allow the claim to become law, by genuinely believing in Christ and believing life will get better, the thieves go to work studying the claims of the bible, while the Christians peruse the holy way of living. But in doing so you allow others to pass there agenda not knowingly. In other words Christianity is the way but not the way you are lead to believe. These claim are not for the gentiles, the gentiles are being exploited. As you await the rapture as a way to escape, you will find yourselves in their destruction. Stop and look in our country, the rent, medical ins., the cost of food VR our wages , how much longer will it be that we are at work and living on the street.

Edit
You are an IDIOT

Oh, I'm not waisting my time. I believe that there is still hope for people like you. SO it is time well spent.

You see, EVERY knee will bow someday ... EVERY person will believe in God someday. Unfortunately some choose not to prepare for that day.

Lets put it this way. If I die believing and I am wrong, am I any worse off? On the other hand, if you die not believing and you are wrong, are you any worse off?

Seek a good Bible based Church and start living a much more fulfilling and rewarding life now!

Thank you for allowing me to spend some good quality time with you. Best of Luck and God Bless.

Those that argue and say you're going to Hell are putting themselves and their opinions before God's will. It's passionate and well intentioned, but not the way. Tell The Truth and go on.

God Bless and Merry Christmas.

While I am a strong believer in Evolution I completely agree with your statement (though not the tone). Let Creationist and the Evolutionist do their own thing. And don't try to push people into something they don't want.

Sounds right to me

"Let the Bible literalist continue to deny well-established scientific evidence that the entire scientific community has accepted for years without objection. Let the Bible literalist also continue to believe that 99.99999% of independent scientists are deliberately avoiding to announce their skepticism of evolution, even though they would win eternal fame, fortune, and awards left and right if they could disprove the theory."

The Christian is to evangelize the Gospel of Jesus Christ, not re-invent it. That's like trying to re-invent the wheel---it doesn't work. You cannot improve upon what is perfect. The wheel is perfect and the Gospel is perfect. Promote the use of the wheel and promote the spreading of the Gospel. Amen.
