Thet international line of EXTREME poverty is 1$ a day. With 1000 dollars, one is officially above the poverty line yet stiull dirt poor. I am sure that, if you try hard enough, there are plenty of countries where you will be able to get through the year with 3 dollars a day, but that requires a live in complete poverty. Plenty of people live on less that that (2001- 1,1 billion), so I think there are plenty of coutries to chose from.

Bulgaria probably. Apparently the cost of living is very cheap over there and a grand will most likely go a long way.

In the U.S.! Here, you can sleep and bathe in a homeless shelter and then go "dumpster diving" for food. Many delicacies to be found outside Whole Foods Market, Trader Joes, and stores like that I'm told. People do it all the time!

you could live in the UK for that - if you didnt have to pay rent of course.

It is possible to eat so cheaply, if you just try - ud have hardly any home comforts - forget about sky, internet, mobile - things like that.

A lot of unemployed people in UK live on 40 quid a week - thats 2000 a year - so its not impossible.
