There is no reason to give a 10 month old baby sugar.
They should be only having formula and about 6oz of watered
down juice at this point.

Its their child so make sure that whenever you approach, and I feel that you should, that you don't come across as being out of line. I would just simply tell them in casual converstation that you don't see that ANYTHING other then milk, juice, and water would have any reason to be in the baby. Coca Cola and things with alot of sugar (even apple juice) can actually mess up a child's teeth even if they don't have them yet. I remember with my little sister- we started giving her apple juice whenever she was about 8 months old becuase she loved it and guess what .....when her teeth came in they came in rotten! I couldn't believe it if I wouldn't have seen it with my own eyes. Tell them that they are putting the child at very very high risk for all kinds of future problems and its just not worth it. If it is just a sip while they are sitting there talking and he drinks it out of her straw or something don't worry about it but otherwise anything more than that its not healthy!! Its not healthy for adults even and yet we still enjoy drinking it but its no way healthy for us let alone a child. Good rule of thumb is at this age, you are best off giving your baby either breast milk or an iron fortified infant formula, water, and up to 4-6 ounces of 100% fruit juice. NEVER put a child to bed with a bottle of juice....it eats the lining of their gums where their gums will later come in!

ARGGGHHHH! I can see an herbal tea cooled off with no sweeteners, but soda of any kind is awful! They will end up with rotten teeth, diabetes, and all kinds of hyperactivity issues!
Now the hard part is how YOU should approach the issue. Are they generally open to your suggestions? Maybe you want to find some articles or even print these responses out and sit down with them. First I would compliment them a=on what they do RIGHT.... "you guys are great parents, you are so loving and ..........." However I am concerned with......
GOOD LUCK!
you are a good grand parent for caring.

Great - give the poor kid caffeine and sugar. What a great way to start its life. The kid will be 200lbs by the time he hits 5th grade. You need to speak up as a concerned grandmother. My kids didn't even touch soda until they were about 5. Water downed juice at 10 months is all they should be drinking besides milk and water. Good luck.

I suggest you talk to the family about this and approach them. Feeding a 10month old child cola and tea is a form of abuse and bad parenting.

the tea wont be bad like if it is turners tea but if its really sweet then no. Coke, I can see if it was watered down. Just ask her why they are giving him coke. And tell them that you dont think it is right

I don't think the tea will hurt him, but the coke could start him on a lifetime of bad health choices. Unfortunately, you can't stop them.

De-caffeinated, watered down tea = OK. Not awesome, but OK.
Soda= NEVER.
The baby should be getting mainly milk/bottled formula. Soda is so unhealthy. I hope they aren't putting him to bed with a bottle of soda. how sad.

Baby's spew for lots of reasons.... a bagel? was it fresh? Try feeding her some baby food after her stomach has time to settle.... it could just be collic. Try burping her for a while. Don't panic, she can go a little while without food, just be sure and keep her hydrated.
