I would goto www.pricewatch.com they have really good prices and comparisons.

If youare a student you are eligble to buy a college version, check with your book store at school.

You can download it from a warez site but that's inviting trojans onto your machine. So realistically you have two choices. You can buy Word. Being a college student you might be able to get a discount or you can download open office for free and save as a word document. Except for some forms I've seen little difficulty going back and forth between word and Open office. Open Office is free, has more features than Word, less buggy and allows you to save in more formats than Word. In general a better Word processor.

Yes, like chrisbee and skillet say, download OpenOffice for free. Excellent programs, do just about everything MS Office does.

If you're forced to buy MS Office, you should be able to get the "Student Licence" version for much less than the full retail.

Definitely download OpenOffice.

If Micro$haft Office can do it then OpenOffice can do it. It's totally FREE and entirely compatible with Word files (.doc).

In OpenOffice you just go to File/Save As then choose 'Microsoft Word' from the dropdown menu of choices to save as.

Download 'Open Office' from the Internet.

Look at WWW.OPENOFFICE.ORG

It has the same functionality as Microsoft office (has clones of 'excel','word','powerpoint' and 'access database')

Best of all... it's free, and works a treat!!

You gotta buy it seperate if it didn't come bundled with the computer.

Windows has "WordPad" built-in to it, which is a basic word processor.

If you want MS WORD, then try a retailer such as Amazon.com or others that have been suggested... I believe it's available on a Student license.

There are also alternatives to MS WORD.......... such as:
"OPEN OFFICE"
http://www.openoffice.org/

StarOffice
http://sun.com/staroffice/

Lotus SmartSuite
http://www-306.ibm.com/software/lotus/sw-bycategory/subcategory/SW870.html
(which is what I use)

If you think it should have come with your comuter get in touch with the supplier you got it from.

You should be able to obtain it from a suitable software supplier. If you are at college it may be worth checking with them to see if they know of any educational deals you could get, they may even be able to supply it to you under their licence.

The other option would be to download openoffice from http:///www.openoffice.org this should be able to provide everything you need for free.
