my boyfriend and i are going to tell our families that we are going to get engaged but we have to wait until march because that is when he is 18 i am already 18 and don't want to mess it up. but the problem is that right now i can't see him because his mother is a cyco B**ch and has told us that we can't see each other for two weeks. so that means that ican't see him for christmas. things have only gotten worse as the relationship has gone on. but i love him with all my heart and he loves me the same.
what would you do in my situation without pissing her off anymore than i already have? what she thinks we did is not true but she won't listen to reason because she thinks she is always right.
what to do ? what to do!
Please help me i am at a loss i don't think there is anything i can do but she has managed to ruen my christmas and his.

Thats how inlaws are. Trust me, I 've been married twice. You have to learn to live with them or ignore them.

Just deal with it. No sense in pissing off your future mother in law any further. Their will be more Christmases to come besides they don't really count until your married. Until he is 18 just abide by wishes after he turns 18 their is not much she can do. However if you plan on marrying this guy I would definitely try to keep things somewhat civil with the mom after all we have a bond that no other could ever have. GL

You have to just wait it out. I know it is hard, but he is under 18 and still his parents responsibility. I have a MIL that is the most obnoxious thing around. I have learned that I don't have to like her but just be their on holidays and not say a word. You have to do it for yourselves. She might always be in your business and make stuff up, but just go on with your own stuff.
I am sure she did it on purpose to make it so you do not see eachother over the holidays. Fine so be it, just think of next year when her say won't matter anymore.

Girl, why in the world do you want to get engaged at 18? Don't you want to live your life? Dont' you want to see the world. It's way too early for that. Besides if you are already having problems with his mom, what makes you think that they will let you get engaged. Please just reconsider and just stay bf and gf for now. You have your whole life ahead of you, even if right now you think he is the one. You will grow up.....

Hate her all you want, but try to act good so she would appear even meaner and worse person, compared to you, in front of others. She may or may not get embarrassed. You still win.

Inlaws get worse after you get married. Please wait to get engaged, you are too young at 18. Hell, Im too young at 24.
