There are several things a person can do. Don't intake any caffeine after 6 p.m. Don't smoke cigarrettes before going to bed or have any other tobacco products before going to bed. Keep your bedroom cool and dark and quiet when you are wanting to sleep. Avoid spending much time in your bedroom during the day, reserve your time to be in there only at night. Go to bed the same time each night and awake the same day each morning. Avoid taking long naps, but if you must take a nap, do so in the mid to late mornings and not after 3 p.m. because this can ruin your night time sleeping rhythmn. Before going to bed, perhaps you could take a nice hot bath or hot shower. This will relax your muscles and maybe make you feel sleepy. Read a book one hour before it is time to sleep. Do quiet things outside of your bedroom until it is time to go to sleep. Drink a cup of hot chammoile (caffeinated free) tea before going to bed.

Try the above for a week. If all the above fail you, then go see your family physican. There may be something wrong with you physically that you are unaware of.

Good luck to you and I hope you get the proper rest you need!

the best way to get a good night's sleep is to do plenty of exercise, eat well but not late in the evening, offload to your friends about any worries or concerns you might have, and finally read a good book in bed until your eyes droop and start to close. Turn out the light if you have the energy and the next thing you know it'll be morning

WARM

Have a warm drink, get in a warm bath, and in a warm bed with fresh linen. Have some lavendar spray or oil, have the window open for fresh air. If you wear jammies, make sure they are loose, perferably none at all. And try not to think of the days events, clear your mind, unplug the phone.
You should sleep like a baby.
Nite, nite.

I'd say first of all allowing yourself to get enough sleep. men should about 7 to 8 hours, woman 8 to 9. your brain actually goes through many phases while your sleeping...so you have to allow the brain to go through these processes with enough sleep. Ive always thought that taking a nice warm shower before going to bed really helps...and just unwinding before you go to bed, watch tv, relax, read a book for a while or something

Hope that helps

Hello,

The keys to getting a really good nights sleep are the following ok:-

1. Make sure your relaxed (mind and body) at bedtime.

2. Take a nice hot bath before you go to bed. This will
help relax your body.

3. Try drinking Horlicks or hot milk half an hour before
bed your be suprised how it helps to aid a good nights
sleep AND makes you feel more freshed in the
morning.

4. Dont make it too late to go to bed. If you need to be
up early, the ideal time for sleep for you is between
7 and 8 hours per night.

5. Try not to sleep during the day (afternoon kip). If you
need to rest, do JUST that but dont go to sleep. Take
some time out in the fresh air and breathe in plenty of
oxygen.

6. Try to have a light, soft peace of music playing in the
background to help ease you off to sleep. Put it on a
timer, so it turns off after about an hour.

7. Dont wait till your really tierd till you go to bed. Some
times this is a mistake far too many people make. But
what they dont realise is when they are too tierd they
are also over tired. This can make it difficult to fall
asleep.

8. When you start to feel tierd, go to bed. Read a book
until your eyes start to feel heavy, then put it down,
turn out your light and go to sleep. Dont carry on
reading till your book falls out your hands, for one you
are more than likely not gona be in a comfotable
position.

9. Try to sleep with two pillows. During the night your
body temperture drops and your heart rate slows
down. Keeping your head at a reasonable height
allows normal blood flow to your brain. If its too low,
your likely to wake with a headache due to your
heart pumping too much blood to your brain while you
are sleeping. Also same goes for if your heads too
high. This makes a lack of blood to the brain and
making the heart try to work harder when the brains
telling it, it should be resting.

10. On waking in the mornings.....its best to wake
natrually when your body is ready. If you need to be
up at a certain time (like for work) dont use an alarm
clock that suddenly makes a loud noise to startle you.
Your be suprised that this cna also bring on heart attacks in the elderly as its a sudden shock to your body. The best alarm is one that starts off quiet but begins to get louder slowly. This allows your body and brain to wake up gently, and it WILL make you feel more like youve had a good nights sleep.

Insomnia (sleeplessness) is due to stress, dietary and medical
problems. By making small lifestyle changes like having a fixed
daily routine, relaxing and eating properly, insomnia can be
cured. I found the information at http://tinyurl.com/jfzpz useful
for getting sleep.

I think it's all about the right bed. Having a bed that you find comfortable will make you sleep like a baby.
