I'm looking for a decent drum machine for my computer, what is the best free one you guys have encountered. Thanks!

Assuming Windows, you can't go wrong with the now freeware app ReBirth from Propellerheads. It's got a TR-808 and TR-909 emulator (along with 2 TB-303's but you can shut those off). It's not supported, but works just fine on my XP machines.

If you are interested in making your own beats and synthesizing your own music I would recommend fruityloops. Here you can add beats based on a timeline. So you can choose when to play the bass drum and when to play the chokes or the snare. Its not graphically like a drumset but more of a studio interface. It will take some time getting used to it, but once you learn how to use it, you won't go to any other software. It not only plays drum beats but you can play your piano, guitar and even scratch music straight from your computer. You just have to learn it. It is a professional software and is very powerful.
