is it wrong to give the earings to another girl as a friendly gift.

if you do that make sure you ask your gf first...because if the necklace and earrings look obviously from a set, and when your gf happens to meet your friend some day, and then notice the similarity and realize it's from a set...it's possible both girls would get mad at you.
Plus it doesn't feel special anymore when someone else out there also get similar things as you do.
But if you don't want to spoil the surprise and on the other hand, don't want to waste those earrings...i have an idea but i don't know if that'd work for you, it's going to need a little work - give the whole set of necklace and earrings to your gf, but work on the earrings a little to make them into a brooch. She'd be happy that you're being thoughtful that she doesn't have her ears pierced and that you've actually not only bought her a gift but also put a little thought in it too :)

go ahead and give the necklace and the earrings to your girlfriend for christmas. she might like the earrings just enough to have her ears pierced

All you have to do is take the earings out of the present and give to someone else. Of course it's not wrong just tel her she doesn't have them peirced or maybe she wants them peirced.

Yes, it is wrong. What you will do is take your girlfriend to get her ears pierced as part of her Christmas Present.

No. but make sure you repackage the necklace so it doesn't look like there were supposed to be earrings with it.

No but be sure to put each of them in their own package. A little box w/ cut out piece of cotton would work fine for that. You don't want either of them to know that there was something else in the box.

take them out, but keep them and just say "it came with earings, but scince i noticed you didn;t have your ears peirced i took them out, though i still have them if you ever want to get them peirced."
