why does my dog always seem to sleep

maybe you should have him/her checked by a vet...sometimes dogs/cats only look like they are sleeping, but they are bored try playing with your pet

My indoor dog sleeps all of the time besides eating and going for walks. I think it's because he is bored or maybe he just gets tired after long walks. My other dogs have a nap time at about 3 O' clock and they sleep at night time so I rarely see them awake. I guess dogs just like to sleep!

I think you'll find breed plays a big part. If your dog seems healthy in other respects such as eating, drinking, urinating, having playful sessions etc then your probably worrying for no reason. But if this behaviour has come on suddenly or is out of character you may wish to visit a vet to check that there is no underlying problem.

According to my research dogs are supposed to get an average of 16 hours sleep a day.

How old is your dog? Also,I have several dogs and breed seems to play a role in this. Is the dog well or not. Will answer when there is more info.

don worry. my dog is gonna b 4 in 4 months, but she has dione nothing but eat and sleep 4 the past 2 years

my dog sleeps 18hours a day, almost 4years old, english pointer...if they still eat and play regularly I dont see a problem. He still runs out the door to go for a walk...
