The term "second class" was phased out in the 80s..replaced by the term "standard class".
Virgin trains have replaced "first class" with the term "club class" and other British railway operators a likely to follow.

At the weekend First class is a godsend, london return from wolverhampton only £26 for tickets plus £20 first class on a virgin no screaming kids, no smelly old people. :D worth every penny
