No less safer than it is for Jews to travel in Israel.

Your question implies a soft bigotry by implying that Gentiles may be subject to "harsher treatment" because they are not Jewish.

The truth of the matter is that everyone is subject to the same security measures when entering the country and they are certainly not fascist considering the all to real security concerns.

Things like kidnappings are only currently de rigure in the Gaza strip which is to be expected since you are dealing with Western hating terrorists and not Israel.

Actual crime is pretty low compared to other Western countries.

They say it's safe! They say that there's not really ever any trouble in the tourist areas! Otherwise if something does happen just walk away to show that you are just a tourist! They also say that danger like that doesn't really bother tourists!
