I am looking to get my wife some quality cookware which she has asked for. We are tired of using teflon pans which seem to scratch and flake, which scares me anyway. I am looking to spend between $300 - $500 for a complete set, so I want it to last a lifetime.

If you can speak from experience and tell me how long your set has lasted, that would be much appreciated.

Please provide name brand and a description of the the appearance and quality.

It wouldn't be to me. Last time I checked, I could buy a set of stainless cookware for less than $300, on sale in a local store. The set I bought in 1999 for a couple of hundred bucks is still going strong, and so is the Revereware stuff my mother has had for over 60 years. Stainless cookware doesn't wear out in an average lifetime, so so much for lifetime warranties. Choose a set with metal handles, because handles of a different material are about the only thing that can break on stainless cookware unless you drop it off the 18th floor of a building. A google search of Simplicity brings up quite a few sites, and somewhat more than half of them include the word "scam". That doesn't happen when you google the names of well known cookware manufacturers which have been in business for many decades. Those makers also don't seem to feel the need to offer "free" honeymooon trips to help sell their products. Whether it makes any difference to have cookware made of surgical steel or not, I don't know, but if there are any dangers in using ordinary stainless cookware, they sure haven't hit the news.

William Sonoma or caphalon. Look at Carsons, Macy's or Bloomingdales.

After all the fuss, I'd still buy cast iron (Lodge) and LeCruset pots and pans. They will last forever.

orcal_girl's is a spammer. I have just looked at all his answers and they are all spams sending users to another (possible infected) website. I have reported him / her / it. I trust you all do the same.

I do not know what software they are using, but they seem to be answering EVERY question asked. PLEASE, report them and have their account deactivated.

Sorry for invading your question with this post, but I am peed at people not trying to help people and wasting time with that spam SH*T. Sorry again. ;-)
