All gifts are to be kept after the break-up. His personal effects (sweatshirts, class rings, cd's) you should give back.
If he asked, be glad you are done with him. He's an @ss.

No, they were gifts! Did he give them to you and say, I present this ring to you to wear only while we are dating? Probably not. I would not give them back. I mean where do you draw the line? I assume that while you were dating he took you out on dates too - now that you are broken up do you owe him the cost of all those dates? You go into a relationship hoping that it will last, but understanding that there is a possibility that it may end, if he opted to buy you alot of jewelry gifts, that was his choice, you are not obligated to return them.

What kind of rings? Was it an engagement ring? For that the answer is IF you broke off the engagement then yes you give the ring back but if he broke off the engagement then No do not give them back.

The only thing you need to give back is the ring that was like a promise, or engagement ring. anything else you should keep, they were gifts to you.

No. Anything given to you in a relationship is still yours after and vise versa. Neither of you should be so petty as to ask for cherished items ot be returned. They will still remind you of the good times you had together. Those times may be over but they will never be "past."

It you had a good relationship with each other and he wants his things back then yea I think you should give them to him out of respect. However, if it really was a good relationship and he was a good man, he wouldn't ask for them back.

If he's asking for it. Just give it back, if you havent already thrown it away. Symbolically, its really the end of the relationship, and it would show him youre ready to move on. He would also stop bugging you. For you to keep them means he can still talk to you

if the ring was an engagement ring, you may keep it. give him back the rest of the stuff. (if you want to be mean, have your initials engraved before returning them). that is not real wise though. he may sue you for damages.

they were gifts so they are yours, but if they don't mean anything to you anymore consider giving them back or selling them. Maybe keep one as a memento of the good times but if you like it all and will wear it, then it is yours to keep.
