Exercise is the best weight loss plan I have ever tried. Weight loss is about managing calorie intake verses calorie consumption. As we were having our first son I was about 40-50 pounds overweight, I finally had enough or looking and feeling bad, so I started running, not really watching what I was eating at the time. I started slowly, walking mostly for 10-15 minutes and then running for 5-10 minutes, slowly working my way up to a good 20-30 minute run everyday......about 2 years later I ran my first marathon. The trick is to start slow at whatever form of exercise you choose. Remember, no pain, all gain. Then as you start to form the habit of staying active you can then focus a bit more on your diet. I cut butter out of my diet, which was it for the first 2-3 months, everything else remained as is. Then after I no longer felt I needed butter I focused on something else. Changing ones habits is hard so start slow, focus on 1 or 2 items and then get into a routine on these before you try something else. They say it take 90 days of conscious effort to break a bad habit, and then another 60 days to form that habit as second nature. That’s 150 days !! Most people go for the life changing experience, get frustrated and give up. Pick 1 thing your going to do and then focus on it and only it for the next half-year, then add another as you settle into a routine. There are no fast ways to shed pounds. Be realistic and get fit for life !!

I'm doing the "master cleanse" and it works great. Contrary to what the name suggests, it is not an enema. The New York Times wrote about it December 11. For 12 days you eat nothing, but drink six to eight glasses of the following: 8oz cold water, 2 TbL freshly squeezed lemon juice, 2 TBL maple syrup, a dash of cayenne pepper. I'm halfway through and losing a pount a day. The first two days were rough and head-achy, but I didn't lose energy as I feared I would. I don't have patience to be hungry all the time, only to lose a half-pound a week. The one caution on this is not to binge when its over. Once your stomach is shrunken, you must resist expanding it again with way too much food or you'll end up as before.

I've tried many diets and couldn't make anything work. Since having my first child, I've been carrying around an extra 30 pounds. This diet just made sense and showed me that everything I was doing before was wrong and a waste of my time.

The plan was so refreshing and so simple to follow. I did everything plan said and lost 23 pounds in the first three weeks. I'm now starting the diet again to lose 7 more pounds. This plan has changed my life.

Get started today!

There's a new plan out there called The Logic Diet.
It's perfect for your situation because it will allow you to eat lots of food at first while you convert to your new lifestyle, and NO exercise is required!
With 2 kids, I doubt you have much time for consistent exercise anyway, right?

My friends and I have always just found that eat less exercise more is the key. start out by walking and add in as much running as you feel you can. running gets the fastest results by far. I dropped my "freshman 15" in about six weeks that way. Actually enjoying the sport kept me motivated, and my weight has stayed the same. Good luck to you!
