The fiancée has no legal claim against the City of New York. The parents and siblings and infants do. Their lawyers may be telling them to say nothing.

Ultimately New York City will pay millions to them in damages.

For all I know, the Transit Authority cops who were sprayed with bullets (but not hit) and hit by flying glass will also collect. Whatever they thought was happening, the cops who shot 50 bullets violated every rule in the book. Under the circumstances I would think it wise for the family to say nothing and to leave the talking to Al Sharpton.

I believe that they are just being still until they find out how the NYPD is going to handle the situation. His fiance attended the prayer service that they had for him last night at the scene of the shooting. At the service they all counted (quietly, not shouting) to 50, the # of shots that was fired. I think that their patience is amazing and I hope they get all of the answers and justice that they deserve.

Because every knows that it's OK for a black man to run down people and cars if he is getting drunk at the strip bar. It was his wedding he didn't have time to get arrested. So it was OK to run over people.
