I am 11 and 12 in may and i still suck my thumb. My friends don't know that i do it and i want to tell them, to be honest but i'm afraid that they will not be friends with me anymore and that everyone will bully me. I have tried putting nail varnish on it but in the end i can't stand it and i wipe it off. My family want me to stop but i can't. My teeth are a bit pushed out but not that bad so that the dentist has really said anything about it. I'm also worried about my actual thumb because its got a bump there so i'm scared of letting people see it!!! Can any of you help me please!! P.S I can't do that hypnotise (however its spelt) thing because its too expensive and that so please help!!!

There is an appliance you can order off of the Internet that fits over your thumb which makes it impossible for you to suck your thumb. I am a dental asst. and I have seen this product work. I think the website might be www.thumbguard.net. Good Luck!!

Try putting something gross on your thumb. Something that tastes disgusting. Then whenever you go to suck on it-it will taste so bad you wont want to suck it anymore.

Try using bitter polish.... The same thing we use to stop biting our nails.... It tastes really horrid and bitter and you wouldn't dare suck your thumb with that. My sister used it....

When you get the urge, dip it in a bowl of vinegar. It may be an old wives tale, but it works.

Use stop'n'grow, paint it on your nails, let it dry, my 5 year old soon stopped, also think grown up you will feel if you stop.

put REALLY HOT hot sause on your thumb ive never had that problem but that might work ar ask a doctor

my friends couldnt stop and she has this liquid gell atuff that she put on her thumb and it tasted horrid so she stopped that way, you can get it everywhere
