Most blind people report that they do dream, its just not the same way we do. If they are born with sight and lose it, those people can dream about sights, and often do. But those who are born blind often dream about sounds and inner feelings and thoughts.

They dream in exactly the same way as the sighted. Based upon their experience in the world, their subconscious constructs scenarios fashioned around the way they normally 'experience' the world. Dreams are not just visual experiences. Are your dreams on 'mute'? Do you not feel physical sensations relative to the content? The blind 'see' the world differently, but they still 'see' it through the other senses, so it stands to reason the dream construct would revolve around those senses.

I would imagine it is like you using your imagination and dreaming in pictures in effect. However i have a question regarding this if anyone knows? Do people who have been blind since birth still dream in pictures or can they have an imagination because they wont know what colours or what things look like? Just something i have thought about!

Good question. As they do not see, they may not dream any events as we do.

They have auditory dreams, they hear sounds.
But if they weren't born blind, of course they can see.
