One thryoid gland but it is shaped in such a way as to look like two, as it folds over the trachea.
You also have four smal glands located at the back of the thyroid called the parathyroid glands.

Just one thyroid gland, that has two lobes. It's a butterfly shaped thing.

my mom has been reading up allot on thyroid problems and truth is the "safe zone" is all dependant from one docter to another, my mother has been fighting to get some drugs to help her, and the levels she has tested at have, in some peoples books, are ins the "ok" range and in other texts, she is in the 'needs serious help " range. so it all really comes down to opinion.
