Or, if they sell both, is there any way to tell if your buying a brand new one or a reconditioned camera?

Reconditioned Cameras

They sell both, but mainly new. I would think that only older models would be used, given the rate of new models coming out. Check a camera mag to ensure you are looking at a recent model and the guide price to pay. It's worth £3 or £4 to check.

You should get a box with various accessories and a guarantee with a new camera, stating that it is new. Also, check things like the photo number counter. It should be zero, or a small number if it has been tried out in the shop. These can be reset, so not an absolute guarantee.

Absolutely not. Jessops sell brand new cameras and everthing to do with photography and video. However they do sell SOME recons items but its like going into Currys and other major retail stores. Jessops is the no1 for photography.

I reckon the standard displays are all of new ones and then there would be a separate area for reconditioned models. Or if you see one you like on display, you could see if there is a cheaper model of it in the reconditioned section?
