Drink plenty of water for starters. Try using Ojon, which is a natural product. www.ojon.co.uk or Keratasse. You haven't describes your hair? it really all depends on your hair type as to what treatment you use. I would recommend only washing when you have to as to not deplete the hair of its natural oils, use protective heat sprays f you use a hair straightener so you dont damage your hair and try to use as little styling products as possible this will help to keep your hair soft and shiny for as long as possible without causing a build up and that greasy look. Hope this helps x

depending on your hair type - this works for me. first, get good conditioner (pantene daily moisture renewal or smooth & sleek). in the shower, when your done rinsing conditioner - blast your hair with cold water. after blowdrying your hair, use the "cold" blast on your dryer setting. also, if you use hairspray - don't use it out of a can - for some reason out of a pump works best for me with shine. and if you really want gorgeous soft shiny hair, paul mitchell's super skinny serum is the best! this is for a daily routine. always remember to alternate your conditioner every month - you can get build up.
now, if you don't wash your hair everyday and you want shine for a couple of days: take a small bowl, add a couple of tbs of olive oil, a couple of tbs of mayo to keep the mixture thick, an egg, and a splash of beer - it stinks but it works! slap the mixture on your hair, wrap your head in plastic wrap, then wrap a hot towel on that for about 20 minutes - wash and condition - your hair will feel like a million $$ for several days!

eat right, exercise, plenty of rest, lots of water, good shampoo and conditioner, regular haircuts... thats your "foundation"
then it depends on the product you use and how you are going to "style" it..
the ionic/ceramic hairbrushes will help with any blowdryer. it is further aided if the blow dryer is ionic as well...
if your hair has a lot of natural curl and you want to wear it straight start with Avedas "Hang Straight" after you sham/cond, then use the items I listed above, only blow drying long enough to get the hair dry, then using a good ceramic flat iron ( the "True Ceramic Pro" is a good one costs about 130.00 but the best 130.00 you will ever spend if you love slick shiny straight hair) quickly run the flat iron over small sections these irons usually come with instructional video... you will have the softest, silkiest hair that has no frizzies and withstands even high humidity without frizzing, your hair will stay like that until it gets wet again, you may need to do minor touchups after sleeping on it, but you should be able to last 3-4 days or until your natural oils require you washing it again...
This gives you the kind of straight hair that Jennifer Anniston has when she had it really long and wore it very straight...
"Superstar!"
If you have naturally curly hair and want it took look shiny, manage the frizzies and feel soft , not hard like styling gels can make it feel, use a moisturizing mousse designed for curls, and you can even add a (very) small amount of a shine product like "Frizz Ease" to make it glisten, you will still be able to run your fingers through your hair... a light misting with a water atomizer to touch up will keep it looking fresh...
I have very naturally curly hair , (think corkscrew curls that go .."boing") and I can wear my hair both ways... I had never been able to achieve really straight hair until I invested in the really good ceramic iron.. don't settle for cheap imitations, I have had mine for over 5 years and it still works like the day I bought it..
