Cherry 7-up came out about 20 years ago.Why did Coca Cola never came out with Cherry Sprite to compete?

It's probably one of those deals where Coke might've decided that it was too small of a market to pursue. They might have been content to let Pepsi dominate that small segment of the market.
Likewise, Pepsi never came out with competition for Vanilla Coke; on the other hand, both companies came out with lemon and lime flavourings of their respective colas.

People did... a Shirley Temple is Sprite with cherry juice=Cherry Sprite.

Um..maybe you should ask! Well Cherry Sprite is known everywhere as a Shirley Temple..maybe they don't want the famous known name to disappear!I lllovee Shirley Temples aka Cherry Sprite!
