It doesn't matter weather it is cold or hot cereals. A few minutes after I eat it I get sleepy, why is that? I was once told that it is because it is digested too fast. But I wonder weather it is some other health problem.

it's the milk. That tryptophan (sp) stuff (it's also in turkey) is in milk also. That is why they say to drink a glass of warm milk before bed to get sleepy.

I would guess because most people eat cereals in the morning for b-fast, you are probably sleepy not from the cereal but because you just woke up....

Cereals are carbohydrate and they digest quickly. Milk is, in itself, a natural sedative. (Think what babies do after they take their bottle). A nice bowl of cereal at bedtime beats a sleeping pill any time.

It's not the cereal that makes you sleepy. It's the feeling you have when you are on a full tummy.(the feeling to go to sleep when your stoimach is full.) I am not reccomending this but you can get checked to see if you
have sickle cell.
