First of all, you can't invest without finding a partner who is Saudi. Second, if you do find someone, I would recommend investing in something for females e.g. a beauty parlor. I don't mean a little one with two hairdressers and that's all. I mean a huge place where women can get haircut, faical, manicures, pedicures, buy clothes and lingerie etc. (there has to be a coffeeshop too...Starbucks would be nice). You would have to find really good people to work there...preferably foreigners. It's a goldmine. You could make a lot of money. Trust me, I am a female living in SA...the women here are willing to pay lots of money to look good.

Land...property...if you're looking for something smaller; mobile phone shops always run good.

What will probably not run as good are shops selling music, extremely luxurious items, small produce(fruits and vegetables) shops(most people shop from hypermarkets now) etc

Of course, you'll have to do it under the name of a citizen, foreigners aren't allowed set up a business here.

OIL!!! You just can't go to Saudi Arabia. You have to have a job then the company who hires you will be your sponser and they will get you a work visa. Then when you get to Saudi Arabia, the company will take your passport from you and will not give it back until you get your final exit visa. You will get it of course if you go to other countries on vacation. Then the best thing to do is go on vacation and not go back!!!!!

thats a tough one....i dont live in saudi arabia at the moment..i am in tokyo...i do animation for a living...but i grew up in saudi arabia and i am a citizen.....

as for investment? well....at the moment its all stocks....and its difficult for foriegners to enter the stock market....however...finding a distributer in saudi arabia...for any goods....is always a good way to go....lots of saudi people set up private businesses importing goods from everywhere.....and it makes alot of money....some of my friends r doing well....and my retired father is doing the same....its one of the easiest ways to make money in the country since nothing is produced locally....my advice is....find a product u think lacks in saudi arabia....no matter what it is (really...even toilet paper would make u rich)...and find a distributer....its as simple as that...

ALTHOUGH , I DO NOT THINK THAT ASKING IN YAHOO ANSWERS YOUR QUESTION IS A GOOD IDEA FOR AN INVESTOR , I WOULD ADVICE YOU TO INVEST IN YOUR OWN COMPANY THAT YOU ESTABLISH WITH A LOCAL PARTNER.
AND I THINK THAT ALL THE MATERIALS RELATED TO THE
HOUSING SECTOR IS IN DEMAND IF YOU CHOOSE THE RIGHT AREA. BEST OF LUCK

I guess your best option would be to invest in the stocks. specially pick the time when it is low (like now) and buy some stocks & sell them when it goes up again.

but only enter the stock market when it is low otherwise it is very upreddictable.
