My cousin has a 1 1/2 year old chocolate lab who seems to throw up bile almost every morning after waking from sleep on a empty stomach. Any idea what this could be due to?

My dog will throw up if he gets hungry. They might not be feeding him enough and he's waking up too hungry. Try having a little bit of dry food in a bowl for him to snack on if he gets hungry during the night.
Otherwise you might want to consult a vet.

Yes, the dog is probably hungy.. Have her feed the dog 2x a day, once in the am and once in the eve.
Just like some people who get sick to their stomach when hungry, dogs will as well..

Are they feeding him twice a day? If not, then they should be. A dog needs to be fed a morning and evening to keep from getting too hungry
